Manual handling

... or man handling the P. C. correct wording gets me ... one of the most frustrating aspects of Voluntary work on a ward is seeing patients askew in their discomfort on a bed ... the mutual knowledge sometimes that thy is not in the allowed to do ... in moving them into a more comfortable posture ...

The discretion used to squish the pillows into a comfy position instead, without actually physically moving the said patient. Sometimes the electronic moving bed parts up and down cannot help, and certainly not for the pillows. The discretion too on who requires swift help by the right person, when staffing levels are a premium ... the staying put until help arrives to prevent the other safety issues caused by adhering rigidly to the regs.

The buzzer button too can either be in puddles or askew too.  The twist of wires fun in the limited space untangle, can limit all this. Another obvious regulation that easy access to this button should be always so. It is not always so ..

Those who do not want to make a fuss, will wait until someone comes along ...  Those who get frustrated. The ones poignantly absolutely unaware of all this. And my original task in hand, all the while, to continue with ...

The more regular time out, in another environment where others are out of theirs awhile. One does not get attached to any one patient on this ward. The speed of turnover. This a good starting point of integration ... It does not stop the emotive scenes on a regular basis. The imprint however swift of those vulnerabilities, to respect this fact of privilege...

Especially some who  have no value of life directly or indirectly of human or animal so readily in other areas of life ...  ... ...
